James C. Beall, D.D.S.
Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
 Dr. Jim Beall grew up in the United
States Air Force and lived in many places including the
Philippine Islands and Ecuador, South America before
graduating high school in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon
graduating from the Emory University School of Dentistry
in 1967, he practiced general dentistry for six years in
the Air Force as well as in his own office in West Palm
Beach, Florida. In 1973, Dr. Beall joined the College of
Dental Medicine and the Children's Hospital of the
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for graduate
studies in Pediatric Dentistry.
In 1977, Dr. Beall joined
Children's Dentistry, P.A. Since that time he has been
active in dental organizations and children's dental
issues locally, in South Carolina, the Southeast and
Nationally. He served as the Pediatric Dental Consultant
to the South Carolina Department of Social Services from
1977 - 1987, held the office of President of the South
Carolina Dental Association's Coastal District and
served as President of the Southeastern Society of
Pediatric Dentistry. In 2001, Dr. Beall was honored for
his work by being elected to the International College
of Dentists by his dental colleagues. He is currently
the Pediatric Dental Consultant to the Federal
Government's CMS District IV (Southeastern States). He
has been Chairman of the Joint Advisory Committee of the
South Carolina Medicaid Dental Program and continues to
work on programs to ensure that all children in need
have the opportunity to receive quality dental care.
Dr. Beall has served as Vestryman
and Junior Warden of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Luke
and St. Paul in Charleston, South Carolina. Besides
Pediatric Dentistry, the great loves in his life are his
wife, Judy (retired from Delta Airlines), his three
children Greg, Wendy and Lowry, and ANYTHING about
Aviation (history, air shows, museums, and all airplanes
old and new!). Please don't get him started about
Airplanes!! Also keep a lookout for his Sponge Bob ties!
Lowry is a breast cancer survivor,
so look for Lowry and the entire Children's Dentistry
team each year as we support the Susan B. Komen
Race/Walk each year. Dr. Beall and Judy have been
blessed with three grandchildren, Rania 8, Kadin 5 and
Jack 1 1/2 years old. They keep him very busy on the
weekends.
Dr. Beall is VERY lucky to have
FIVE wonderful bosses who he works for…Miss Sheri who
has worked for him for over 25 years, Miss Christy over
15 years, Erica who started with Dr. Beall as a patient
and Crystal and Jamie who have lots of experience with
their own children and understanding for all our moms.
Wayne L. King, D.D.S.
Specialists in Pediatric Dentistry
 Dr. Wayne L. King is a native
Charlestonian who graduated from Porter Military Academy
in 1964. After earning a B.S. degree in Chemistry, with
minors in math and German, from the College of
Charleston in 1968, he was awarded a D.M.D. degree from
the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), School
of Dentistry in 1972. He then entered the United States
Navy as a dental officer and completed a general dental
internship at Boston Naval Hospital. LCDR. King also
served two years aboard the USS Puget Sound (AD-38). In
1977 he finished a two-year residency (one year as Chief
Resident) in Pediatric Dentistry at MUSC. He then
entered private practice in Charleston with Children’s
Dentistry, PA. He is a member of numerous dental
societies and organizations.
Dr. King is married to Jeannie
Nissen King, a Converse graduate and native of Marion,
SC, who teaches first grade music at Porter-Gaud School.
They have one son, Davis Legare, who is nineteen years
old and a sophomore at the College of Charleston. The
Kings are members of Grace Episcopal Church. Outside of
family and pediatric dentistry, his greatest interests
are cooking, wine collecting, and traveling. For
twenty-five years he was the president of the Charleston
Baillage of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the largest and
oldest gastronomic society in the world.
George A. Deussing, D.D.S.
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
 Dr. Deussing was born in
Philadelphia, Pa. He attended Penn State University and
Temple University School of Dentistry. He received his
Pediatric Dentistry specialty training at MUSC where he
was Chief Resident.
Dr. Deussing was a Major in the US
Air Force Dental Corps. He has assignments to Fairchild
AFB in Spokane, WA and to Yokoto AB in Japan and to AB
in Germany where he was Chief of Pediatric Dentistry.
He was in private practice in
Redding, CA for 5 years prior to his return to
Charleston and has now practiced here with Children’s
Dentistry, P.A. for 23 years. He is Board Certified in
Pediatric Dentistry and a member of The American Board
of Pediatric Dentistry, and a Fellow of The American
Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Deussing has a son, Ryan, an
internet business owner, and a daughter, Corey, a dental
hygienist. In his spare time he enjoys laughing, eating,
swimming and golf. He also loves his miniature long-haired
dachshund, Remington, as do so many of his patients and
their parents, as he is a “part-time” employee.

Jen: I am enjoying life with my husband and our cat
Cookie. My passion is traveling and have spent two years
overseas teaching English. I love my church!
Dannielle:
Road tripping with my rescue puppy Evie is one of my
favorite things to do! I spent my free time working
promotions for local radio stations and love catching up
with friends.

Leanne: I was recently blessed with a
daughter and I am currently getting renovations complete
on my new house. My true hobby is reading when time
allows.
Ann: I enjoy eating out with my
husband and chatting with friends. You can find me pool
side on my days off.

Sheri: I
have worked with Dr. Beall for 25 years and have enjoyed
treating patients who are now bringing their children in
to see us. My husband Tim and I have been happily
married for 37 years. We have four children, Rusty,
Nikki, Shelley and Wendy. We are also blessed with four
grandchildren, James, Emily, Cole and Jackson.

Corey: I
have practicing Dental Hygiene since 2004 and dentistry
since 1996. I enjoy cooking, painting and kayaking.
Lisa: I
joined the team at children's Dentistry in 2005 and love
caring for children's smiles. I have a rescue dog,
Frappi, who makes sure I do not sleep in! when not at
work, I can be found on the tennis court or enjoying the
beautiful Charleston weather.
Casey: I
have been a Dental Assistant for 3 years and love the
pediatric field. I have been married for 3 years to my
husband Robert. We have two dogs and a daughter which
keeps us young. I love going to church and spending time
with family and friends.
Mandy:
I have worked with Dr. Desuusing for 10 years. My husband and I were recently blessed with Leslie
Brooke our
now 8 month old baby girl. I enjoy being on the water
and hanging out with family and friends.
Michelle: I
have worked with Dr. Deussing for 22 years. I
am a proud mother of three with my youngest starting
Kindergarten. I love spending time on the lake, cooking out with friends
and spending time with my chiweenie Paw Paws.

two children and four very fun cats! I have been at
Children’s Dentistry for over 11 years and look forward
